Altered Mailboxes With cards

Good morning!        I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day.  I sure did!  My lovable husband, Mick, brought me a pot of adorable little dwarf daffodils.  He knows that I would much rather have flowers for my garden instead of cut flowers.  What a sweetie!  This way I will be able to enjoy them year after year.  Of course I made his gift - well, altered it anyway.  Instead of the usual card, this year I made him 5 simple 3x3 mini cards, and altered a metal mailbox from the Target $1 bins.  I also altered one for our Grandson, Dalton, but he hasn't received his yet.  Shhhhh, don't tell him!

                                            This is Dalton's mailbox.
And this is Mick's mailbox.  For some reason the picture of the mini-cards isn't showing up.  Hmm....  Oh well.  As you can see, I didn't go with traditional Valentine's Day colors because I wanted to be able to use these little mailboxes to send love notes all year through, not just in February.  That is the idea anyway.  The hearts are just paper doilies that I colored with spray inks and stains.  The postage stamp design on the flag and the door I made using my Cuttlebug.  It is from the Celebrations set that includes one cutting die and four embossing folders.  I love that set, and use it quite a bit.

The mailboxes were simple and fun to alter, but I wish I would have found ones that had hinged lids.  These lids come completely off.  Oh well.  There's always next year!

I'm going to say good-bye now, because I have too many new projects calling my name, crafting and otherwise.  I'll be back tomorrow to show you some!  Have a great Tuesday,
Anne
